Speaking of Ms. Whalen, I've referenced her site before, but it's worth another look. There's a lot of good stuff on optimizing your pages for search. It includes a Forum where search issues are the coin of that realm.

This is a free service that will help you balance the issue of image quality vs. image file size. Helpful for the non-artist in me and you.

To Hell With WCAG 2
If you follow the developments of the W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative, then you know they are in the midst of redefining how to create accessible web sites. This is Joe Clark's scathing take on what they are doing with the new standards. Clark nailed it.

UPA 2006 Conference
The Usability Professional Association's annual conference featured some big names and big ideas about usability. Their web site holds the podcast and transcript of some of those names and ideas.
