Tidy GUI: Fixing Up Code And Converting To XHTML

About a year and a half ago or so when I was beginning to convert the way I write web documents, that is, from HTML to XHTML I searched around for a tool that would help me with the process.

I came to Tidy GUI, the offspring of HTML Tidy. HTML Tidy was something I'd seen years ago in various stages of development but could never figure out what to do with it.

But before we meet Tidy GUI, the matter of converting web docs from HTML to XHTML stands before us. Why did I want to do that? Partly because I was beginning to create my online workshop and I didn't want to teach old standards. I had come to understand that XHTML was the wave of the future and that HTML had run its course and served its historic purpose. The world was heading in that direction so why shouldn't I?

Besides, I liked the fact that XHTML sprang from XML, the mother of so many applications.

To aid in my transition I met the current version of Tidy GUI. Granted, the application's interface will not win any awards for beauty but it does a reasonable job of cleaning up code and will definitely assist you with your transition to XHTML.

So here's the version of Tidy GUI that you download and run on your computer.

And here's HTML Tidy Online. I haven't tried this so if you do and would care to tell us about it please do!!
