A Method Of Building A Small Web Site
In two issues, I took you through the pre-production process of developing a small to mid-sized web site. From charting, to wire framing and templating, I showed you the steps to take before you get to the final stage - build.
A Well Formed Document Is A Thing Of Beauty
I showed you what is meant by creating web pages which are well formed documents. In that Joy Gems issue I looked at newspapers as an example of what "well formed" is to help you understand how a familiar concept applies to making web pages.
Speed Thrills: A Way To Optimize Your Pages So They'll Download Faster
In this issue, I led you to the King Of Optimization, Andy King. He's built a great online tool that tests your page for how fast - or slow - it downloads, something that is still important to more users than not. As Andy would agree, a joy of code lies in the old adage that less is more.
So, You Want To Know About HTML Goodies, Huh?
Based on the number of visitors to this page last year, this article was very popular. I thought people would consider the HTML Goodies site a bit dated, but I was wrong.
